The One and Only Chocolate Cupcake
Are you looking for the best, and easiest chocolate cupcake recipe? I got you! I LOVE this recipe, it’s easy, with simple household ingredients, and it has always come out on top – as far as chocolate cupcake recipes go anyways! Match this with my silky-smooth buttercream recipe and, it will knock your socks off! Seriously though – I made these for my daughter’s birthday last year and they were a HUGE hit! Make these at your next function, then tell me how good they were!
- 1 cup of All-Purpose Flour
- 1 cup of Granulated Sugar
- 1/3 cup of Unsweetened Cocoa Powder
- 1 tsp of Baking Soda
- Dash of Salt
- 1 Large Egg
- 1/2 cup of Milk (your choice of Milk)
- 1/2 cup of Vegetable Oil
- 1tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1/2 cup of Hot Water
Preheat the oven to 300F, then prepare your cupcake tins with Liners. This batch should make about 14-16 cupcakes!
Mix all of the dry ingredients into a large bowl with a whisk (Flour, Sugar, Cocoa Powder, Baking Soda and Salt). (Pro Tip: Use a Fine-Mesh Strainer for the Cocoa Powder and Baking Soda).
Then mix all wet ingredients, (except the hot water) together, again, with a whisk, until just combined (Eggs, Milk, Vegetable Oil, and Vanilla Extract)
Mix the wet with the dry until combined, then add the hot water. This will make the batter closer to a water-like consistency (That’s okay!)
Fill up those cupcake liners and bake anywhere from 18-22 minutes (until a toothpick comes out clean), then move them to a cooling rack.
Next, the Silky-Smooth Buttercream….
